Monday - Alas Poor Sourdough
Yes as I foretold, the sourdough starter was an epic fail. I've gone back to using sourdough bread mix - much less stressful.
The weather has been typically changeable with sunshine, cold winds, and not quite as much mud as last week, but still enough to make wellies advisable.
After a busy week of dog walks, cat visits and some gardening, I managed to get some seeds for leafy greens sown on Saturday in the small Vegepod, and some other more tender plantings in the small growhouse.
For my favourites (pumpkins of course) I've decided to go with Rouge Vif D'Etampes for my one large pumpkin this year, plus Jack Be Little and Gold Speck for some cute mini pumpkins. I have sowed the Gold Speck already, the others will probably be next week. There really is no rush - they can't go outside until the end of May at the earliest because of the risk of frost.
I did eventually manage about 15 rows of knitting on my Hana jumper over the last few days which I am pleased about. I am enjoying knitting much more now that I don't have to do it for other people!
Yesterday was spent catching up with two good friends which was lovely. We even managed to form some tentative plans for a photo shoot which I am really looking forward to (if I can get the garage cleared of all the weird and wonderful stuff we currently have stored in there).
